Historical Statement:

William Hill Phillips worked in the furniture industry in High Point, N.C. Later he worked and retired from Hatteras Yacht Corporation, where he was a laminator and manufactured the Fuel, Water and Sewage Tanks for the Luxury yachts. He loved to have a good time and he managed a band call Bobby Smarr and the Playboys for many years traveling all over the country. Vee Sawyer is the love of his life and they have 2 sons together. Ronald Lee Phillips and Bernard Phillips. He loved to farm and raise fresh fruits and veggies is his greatest hobby. He often shared this bounty with friends, relatives and neighbors. One of the things Ronald loved about his dad, was when he took him and his brother deep sea fishing off the coast of N.C. at Wilmington. They did this nearly every summer when they were growing up. This is where Ronald’s love for the sea began. Its probably the reason why he spent nearly 24 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service, Serving on board Trident Nuclear Strategic Missile Submarines.
