Historical Statement: |
Pearline Crawford was born in Cherokee County, South Carolina where she grew up and later moved to High Point, N.C. She is the oldest of seven children. She later met and married Douglas Crawford on March 3, 1951. They were married 51 years until his death. At the age of 42, she decided to resign from Carolina Spring corporation to care for her husband who was a victim of a hit and run accident in 1972. The accident paralyzed him from waist down and confined him to his bed. She is blessed with five children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of The First Emmanuel Baptist Church in High Point, N.C. where she served on The Willing to Help Missionary. She always made this statement, “before she leaves this world, she wants to be a happy woman”. Some of her hobbies includes:
